Hiatus

So my blog took a funky turn to reviewing the Buffy Season 9 comic art including the Angel & Faith stream for the past several months. But as of late I've neglected it. My lack of enthusiasm in critiquing has made me decide it's best to take a hiatus on the matter. There's just nothing special to talk about in the cover art anymore and within the comics. I'm finding myself getting bored and so forcing it is just going to result in very dull descriptions as you may have noticed from the latest reviews. So to spare you the pain and save both our times I'm going to stop. Here's not to say I'm never going back but I'll see. Who knows, there's still the new Spike miniseries and Willow's too. But in the mean time I am just going to enjoy the comics in my spare time like the rest of you.

Cheers.

Family Reunion ~ Part One

Angel & Faith issue #11

Well this is a late one but I didn't get an copy for a while then I needed to read it and then I had other things to do and then I was bored and then... and now I'm here.

I actually wondered if there is even a point to talking about this issues covers. Well, I should say cover to be exact. So I'm gonna skip Cover One. Let's just get to Cover Two. It's road trip in a convertible baby! First stop, Hollywood. Blue skies and palm trees. Faith is driving and by the wind in her hair, the fluttering pashmina and the bellowing smoke from her passenger she is speeding fast down the highway with that wide grin on her face. Her passenger on the other hand dawns a big droopy frown, huddled under his black leather coat with its tails flying in the air. The Hollywood sign is mirrored on the glossy black car door. It's a picture that doesn't quite makes sense. Why don't they drive with the car roof up? But the illustration is just a bit of fun.

The issue picks up where it left, with Willow's drop in. The issue includes a lot of characters and has some great domestics and conversations that were desperately needed. Remember months ago when I was asking for more familiar characters? And over a slow course Drusilla came and went, not long after we got the mysterious great aunts; and Alastair seems to have disappeared. With all the distractions of new characters I had forgotten all about the old gang. But in this issue along with Willow we get Gun and Conner. Of course I still can't wait for when Illyria's gonna rock in. Who, quote "still can't be tracked down".

I mentioned there were some great conversations going on. Between Angel and Willow. As both argue about Buffy's resurrection in the background Faith sits on the sofa propping up her chin with her arm resting on her knee, cleverly keeping her nose out of this one and looking rather bored. Willow and Faith discussing Angel's motives on the bus. An array of panels show them get on the bus where we see a soda can had swivelled down the aisle leaving a squiggly trail of soda and a standing student playing with his ipad; they make their way down the aisle of the moving bus to a pair of seats behind a sleeping couple. And Angel and Connor in the market place. We see Angel clutching with both arms, a chest full of muffins and eventually dropping them all when his son gives him a heartfelt hug.

And now it's off to another dimension.
